UPSC Civil Services 2020 Exam Dates and Eligibility Criteria– Union Public Service Commission has released the notification for Civil Services. This is a golden opportunity for all those who wants to pursue their career in civil sector. UPSC has released a total of 796 vacancies to be filled this year. UPSC IAS 2020: Registration Date
Registration will commence from 12th Feb,2020 and will end on 03rd March 2020 (6 p.m.).

☛ When will the exam be conducted?
UPSC Preliminary examination is scheduled to be held on 31st May,2020.
UPSC IAS 2020: Stages of Exam
A. PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION
UPSC IAS 2020: Preliminary Examimation
In Preliminary examination of UPSC 2020 it will comprise of two papers compulsory in nature each carrying 200 marks.
(i) Question papers will be of the objective type (multiple choice questions) and time duration of each exam will be of 2 hours.
(ii) The General Studies Paper-II of the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination will be a qualifying paper with minimum qualifying marks fixed at 33%.
(iii) The language of the questions asked in both the papers will be set in both Hindi and English language.
(iv) Details of the syllabi are indicated in Part A of Section III.
The preliminary examination of UPSC 2020 is qualifying in nature and the marks obtained in this stage will not be counted to draw the final merit list of selected candidates.
There will be negative marking for incorrect answers marked by the student. One-third mark will be deducted out of total mark alloted to each question.
UPSC IAS 2020: Mains Examination
The written examination will consist of the following papers:
Papers included in Mains Examination that are qualifying in nature.
(One of the Indian Language to be selected by the candidate from the Languages included in the Eighth Schedule to the Constitution). It will carry 300 Marks.
This paper is of English and it will carry 300 marks.

Optional Subject – Paper 1 (250 Marks)
Optional Subject – Paper 2 (250 Marks)
Sub Total (Written test): 1750 Marks
Personality Test: 275 Marks
Grand Total: 2025 Marks
Candidates have a broad range of subjects to choose from as their optional subject: List of optional subjects for Main Examination:

UPSC IAS 2020: Education Qualification Required to Apply
A candidate having a degree (Graduation) of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University Under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification.
UPSC IAS 2020: Minimum and Maxmimum age to Apply
A candidate of age 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years on the 1st of August, 2020 i.e., candidate must have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1988 and not later than 1st August, 1999.
UPSC IAS 2020: Application Fee
Candidates (excepting Female/SC/ST/Persons with Benchmark Disability Candidates who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay fee of Rs. 100/-
UPSC IAS 2020: Language of the Examination
The tests except for the Test of English Language will be set in both the language (English and Hindi).
